Trojan’s Motive Line of U.S.-made Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) Batteries
The electrolyte solution in AGM batteries is not free-moving, as it is in flooded lead-acid batteries. A glass fiber mat between each plate holds the electrolyte solution in place much like a sponge. This gives AGM batteries good shock and vibration resistance and allows them to be stored and mounted on their sides if needed.
During charging, the hydrogen and oxygen are recombined within the battery, so there is no water loss or emissions. AGM batteries do not require watering or regular maintenance.
